On a recent excursion, I stopped at this wool store, it's a must visit and bring a drool rag! I got the nicest handspun, hand dyed wool for my raggedies as well as some felting needles.
Hubby and I visited the Central Market in downtown for some lunch and then found a nice little bakery in Bird-in-Hand for some dessert.
Hubby opted for the fresh peach shortcake and I selected Black Forest Cake dessert. Both were yummy!
One afternoon while strolling thru Strasburg, we passed a very old church with a verrrrry old cemetery.
Just down the street we found this old house that is being restored to it's original state. Made me want to run home and rip down the siding on my old house and see what's underneath! Sure needed the drool rag here!
Maybe the grass IS greener on the other side:
We never seem to get enough of the scenery while driving around, farms as far as the eye can see!
Let's not forget the over-abundance of quilt shops! Love all that fabric!
Can you tell how thrilled my hubby was to be dragged thru yet another fabric store?! He's a good sport for sure, I think I'll keep him!
You must pay a visit to this shop in Intercourse, "Country Crossings". She's got lots of great junk
both inside and out and good prices. And she's just an all around nice person too!
And last but not least, let's not forget who lives here! There were 3 buggies ahead of us at the traffic light!

I love Pennsylvania ... haven't been in seven years ... loved the photo of the junk shop ... saw some shutters that I was drooling over for a project of mine. I think I foresee a very long road trip in my future!
Sounds as though you had a fun day.
I like the look of that junk store.
Looks like you had a nice time! Love all the pictures...especially the one of your hubby..I think you trained him well.

Looks like a great time!! I've gotta get down there sometime!!
My husband is a warm weather Southern boy, (I'm a native Texan m'self) so I don't think I'll ever get him to move up there...but I will try until I'm too old to move. :~)
Fun stores!! Unfortunately my mother in law is very ill and in her last days. Her passing is probably coming soon. She lives in Delaware and when we need to make the trip we go through Lancaster (I also live in Pennsylvania but in the Northwest region 30 miles south of Erie). I am hoping to be able to make a few stops on the way home when we pass through...Lancaster is beautiful. I'll have to look for the wool shop! ~Kriss~
Oh Maureen...Seeing your pictures makes me want to hop in the car tomorrow and go back there. We NEVER get tired of going there. There is so much to see and do! We try to go each Easter weekend if we can. I'm glad you and Mr. SweetMeadows were able to go and enjoy it! I hope you've visited Shady Maple Smorgasbord...if not...I highly recommend it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures!!!
I just passed that house in Strasburg this past weekend when we took my son to ride the train. We live about 25 - 30 miles south of that area, in Maryland. I love going up there:)

I'm needing a 'drool rag' just from your pictures! I must make a trip to Pennsylvania sometime in the future. Looks like my kinda place! thanks for sharing!
