An older Christmas design.

I haven't made one of these in years.  It's always been maybe my favorite design.  My husband every year asks, "why don't you make the santa on the crow for your Open House?"....this year I decided to surprise him and make one.

I now remember why I don't make it anymore, it is soooo labor intensive.   So many little parts to make it come together.  Not really difficult, just so much time and so much work.  It's  a big one, 37" long.  Might be the last one I make but who really knows???!!!

Christmas Open House this weekend!

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted.  We took a MUCH needed vacation for 2 weeks to Mexico.  Me and my Mr. have had a busy year.

I will post some pictures as well as a mini report on our vacation later, as right now I'm in the throes of getting ready for our open house this weekend.

If you are in the northeast PA area, we'd love to see you!!!

Have a great week!!

Punkin' and Snowman.......

This is my newest creation!  Started out as the 15" Punkin' doll but I felt it needed to go to the next season so I added the Snowman doll.  They are approx. 14-15" of pure cuteness if I do say so myself!  Pattern includes directions for both dolls, their clothing as well as the candy corn ornie and the gingerman too.

Mailed pattern is $10.50 + shipping.
Epattern is $8.50
I am offering a limited number of the Snowman dolls for $45.00 each + shipping.  When they are gone, they are gone!
Punkin' doll is sold out.

It's been really pretty here in northeast Pennsylvania.  Leaves peaked in color this
week and now are dropping quickly :(
I did manage to snap this photo the other day of our shop, it was a bit hazy but still pretty!

Sketching the days away.

Sometimes I plan a new design.  Sketching it down on a scrap of paper and putting it on the pile.  At times, I dig right into it, eager to get it out of my head!  Other times, it sits for a year or two while I occasionally mull over the details.  Such is the case with one particular design.  I shall begin it next week....or the week after, a year in the making now.

BUT, this one popped into my head and jumped onto the paper and then to my sewing machine all in one day.  It began as the simple pumpkin with the dried pumpkin stem.  Then I decided it would make a good snowman head as well.  However, not content with just one hat, I made another with a taller, skinnier hat.  Finally, the last pumpkin  with the date on it.  I had to have an option for those that do not have access to a dried stem so viola, I fashioned a twisty stem that anyone can make.  So here you have it, GIANT pumpkins and snowman heads! lol
These chunkies measure 42" around!!
I have this available as a mailed pattern or an E-pattern.
Mailed is $11.00 + shipping, E-pattern is $9.00
So fun they were to make, I have many of these large, stuffed, "balls" around my house, waiting to be finished.  I've taken a couple pictures with my granddaughters so you can see how big they actually are.  AND, because my grandies are just THAT cute!!
Enjoy your day!

I've been badddddd....

......a bad blogger  :(
I'm so caught up with the nice weather, always giving in to the temptation of wandering outside to watch my grandies run thru the fields or splash in the pool.  The weather has been grand, warm, WARM and humid.  Followed every few days by a passing shower or two.  The veggie garden is soaking all of this weather up and growing quickly.  The past 3 days we have been picking and eating yellow squash and zucchini,  yum!  I have been snapping up pictures, I will post them in a day or two.  Hope you are enjoying your summer, wherever you happen to be!

Mini Roly Poly Bears

Well Spring is here....I think.  There's a LOT to be done outside and I'm not sharing pictures until it is done!!  We've had a very cool spring and even had frost and a freeze this week.  I sure hope that's the last we will see of that.  We are keeping most everything in the greenhouse because the nights are really cool.  So no planting of tender veggies yet.

So I stay in and sew....and sew.
This is my newest design, it's called, "Mini Roly Poly Bears".  They have fat round bellies and are only a mere 6" tall.  It's a fast and easy pattern to make.

Pattern includes directions for making the bears, the lil paper hat and the flag as well as the staining involved.
Mailed pattern is $9.00 + shipping
E-pattern is $8.00
Simply email me if you are interested in purchasing.
Have a great day!!!

Love!

Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious,
never boastful or proud
Never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him and always stand your ground in defending him. All the special gifts and powers from God will come to an end, but love goes on forever.

Breakin' out the fat rabbits in a new pattern!

When I made these rabbits, this was not the end result that I had intended.  However, I am pleased with them.  I was going for a different shape to the body, but when stuffed I was delighted with the roly-poly roundness of them.  So was born, Roly Poly Rabbits!

Their bodies are fat and a very round shape. Mind you, they are not shaped like a ball, a perfect round but more wide around the middle.  You can make them with the fur that I used in my other rabbit and bear patterns, or you can make them from osnaburg fabric.  The osnaburg fabric will give you a bit smaller or shorter rabbit.  The standing rabbits make up to about 13" and that's not even including the ears.  The sitting large rabbit is 9.5" not including his ears.  The little sitting guys are between 5.5" and 6.5" tall.  Again, that doesn't include length of ears!  Also included in the pattern are the two sizes of carrots, the egg, and the pattern for the egg applique that is on the belly of the sitting rabbit.  I've even listed a supplier for the stencil for, "No. 1 Rabbit".  She made this stencil up just for this pattern! Yay!

If you are interested in ordering, send me an email:  sweetmeadowsfarm@yahoo.com  I will be away this weekend until Wednesday but I will have email access.
Here are pictures for you to enjoy:

This little buy below is only 5.5" tall!!!
