I just had to share this!

This is reposted from Facebook, I found it so important that I want to be sure that everyone sees this.  Thank you to George Houghtby for enlightening us all!

‎(ALWAYS READ THE LABELS ON THE FOODS YOU BUY--NO MATTER WHAT THE FRONT OF THE B...OX OR PACKAGE SAYS, TURN IT OVER AND READ THE BACK---CAREFULLY!

With all the food and pet products now coming from China , it is best to make sure you read label at the grocery store and especially Walmart when buying food products.

Many products no longer show where they were made, only give where the distributor is located.

It is important to read the bar code to track it's origin.

How to read Bar Codes .... interesting!

This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to you.

GREAT WAY TO "BUY USA & CANADA " AND NOT FROM CHINA!!

The whole world is concerned about China-made "black hearted goods".

Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China ?

If the first 3 digits of the barcode are 690 691 or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA.

471 is Made in Taiwan .

This is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the

public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA ", so they don't show from which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode - remember if the first 3 digits are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA

00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA

30 - 37 FRANCE

40 - 44 GERMANY

471 .... Taiwan

49 ... JAPAN

50 ... UK

BUY USA & CANADIAN MADE by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number.

We need every boost we can get! Pass this on to everybody on your E-Mail Contact List!! )

We are having the same problem here in Australia, with labelling. It is really important to know where our food is coming from. Thanks.

Funny how you posted this now. I was just telling a couple of my friends about an experience at Sam's Club and Giant. At Sam's I pulled a bag of Broccoli flourets out of the case and looked at the back ( I'm a label reader) and wow! Product of China written on the bottom of the bag! Threw it right back in the case! At Giant I wanted a can of mushrooms. Picked up Dutch Brand ( thinking they were product of Lancaster County) nope...product of India! Put them back on the shelf too. Some of the other brands of mushrooms were from China. So, no mushrooms were in my Beef Stroganoff that week. Thanks for the codes, I'm going to write them down and keep them in my coupon file.

Hi Maureen...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POST!!! I am with you...I absolutely refuse to buy ANY FOOD from CHINA!!! In fact, I don't buy much of anything from China and I boycot WalMart whenever possible...only on very RARE occasion and if I am desperate and left with no other choice. I am extremely proud to say that the new Christmas book I just published was printed entirely in the USA using papers and inks ALL from the US!! I am with everyone else, I will write down these codes also!!
