Monday, Monday.....

.....I actually like Mondays. Weekends here are spent working outdoors. Weeding flower beds, mowing grass, tending the greenhouse and the veggie garden, weed-whacking....
Don't get me wrong, I love when the work is done and the grounds are neat and tidy. But my love is my fabric and my sewing machine!
Hubby is working today and the house is quiet.

The temp today is wayyyy up there but the humidity, it's thru the roof. I thought I'd have my coffee outside this morning but the coolness of the A/C has won out.

I'm not complaining though, I'll take the heat any day over the cold and snow of winter.
I'm off to tackle a few orders, what's in store for YOUR Monday????

And the saga continues!

I feel like this is a soap opera! LOL! We'll cal it, "As The Doll Dries"!
As you know, yesterday I retrieved a very wet black doll from the back yard. I put her in the oven to dry her slowly. IN the meantime, hubby called and I told him about the poor, wet dolly.
He suggested I put the doll in the greenhouse. Yup, that's right! We have hardly anything in there now as the planting has been done and it gets hot a heck in there during the day.
Well, it worked! So now I'm drying dolls and critters in the greenhouse! Yesterday afternoon a nice stained chicken took it's place out there and dryed very nicely in a short time!
No more heating the oven this summer!!

Well, today it's very humid and supposed to be sunny. I have plans this weekend to work on a pumpkin doll, very cute I might add, and will be in pattern form sooner or later. Then it's out to the garden and also some mowing......UGH!
Enjoy your day!!!

And the winner is..............

Barbara Burkard of Lavender Lollipop Lane has won.
Hubby drew her name this evening!
WOOHOO and congrats!

Thanks to all who participated, I think I will have another giveaway listed here in the next few days!

Uh-oh.....

....yesterday I painted a little black doll. I set her aside for a moment and I was prepared to put her in the oven to dry on a low temp. BUT, it was hot, real hot and I just didn't want to heat the kitchen even a wee bit. So I brought her outside and set her on a chair in the setting sun. I figured she'd pretty much dry and I'd take her in before dark.

I forgot.

And it rained last night.....

So, I just retrieved her from her wet post and she is now drying slowwwwly on the lowest oven setting.

And it's still hot!

Doll Giveaway, 100 patterns and a sale!

We're having a celebration, I finally finished my 100th pattern. WOOHOO! This pattern has ALOT of options. You can make the dolls as shown, in either a raggedy doll or black style doll. Pattern includes instructions to make a regular doll with legs, a bagholder doll and a toaster cover doll. BUT, I've designed all of these dolls to be adaptable. My bag holder dolls have legs and are easily converted from bag holder to sitting doll. Same goes for the toaster cover dolls. This way if you no longer want them "working" in your kitchen, you can display them sitting anywhere in your home you like! I plan to take many of these dolls to my shows as they are sooo versatile. Also included in the pattern are two styles of hands/arms, and the following accessories: Gingerbread cookies, a cinnamon bun, a clothesline of laundry items and even instruction to make that primitive broom!
Look at the gingerbread doll, it's a toaster cover but it also has legs! Isn't she cute?!

The black dolly with the bun and rolling pin is the same, toaster cover doll with legs!

The housework doll with the broom and the doll with the laundry are both bag holder dolls. But they have full bodies with legs and you can easily convert them.

I've also included a printed sheet with the following for labels:
"Laundry Today or Naked Tomorrow", "I cleaned my House Yesterday, Sorry you Missed It!", and "Life is Short, Eat Dessert First!" You can cut these out, stain them and make your own tags for your dolls. This pattern is $11.50, email to order.

Now for the giveaway!! If you are on my email list, you are automatically entered. If you leave a comment, you will be entered again, if you post about this on your blog, you will get one more entry. What do you win??? Well, you win your choice of Kitchen Help dolls, customized to your liking, made to order just for you. You pick the style of doll, colors of fabric, and which helper you need! Drawing will be held on 6/24/2010.

Finally, we are having a pattern sale thru Monday, 6/21/2010. Buy one pattern, get one half off.

Lastly, if you are interested in any of the dolls, I might just be putting a few on ebay!!
